Transformation Of Woman Who Was Tied, Beaten In Abia After She Was Accused Of Killing Her Husband

The transformation photos of Mrs Amarachi Okechi, the widow whose video trended on social media some weeks ago have been trending again on the internet.

This time, it is for pleasant reasons. Her latest picture was shared on Instagram by a human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu after she was discharged from the hospital where she was admitted immediately after she was rescued from her abusers.

The woman, who was a widow was tied and dragged to the public scene where she was beaten and abused by members of her community in Abia State for alleged witchcraft. She was accused of being responsible for the death of her husband.

Gwamnishu who posted the picture and video of the woman getting a makeover on his Instagram page on Friday, disclosed that he had taken her to his house in Asaba, Delta State after she left the hospital so she could be far away from her abusers.

He wrote: “The widow they called a witch, tied and beaten. What more can I say than thank you God for using this platform for humanity.

After Mrs. Amarachi left the hospital, she couldn’t go back to her community because of her abusers and she was also traumatised.

“I instructed them to bring her to my house in Asaba, Delta State. She needed to heal from her past and I offered to be her son and took the burden. I will continue to support and use my platform to protect vulnerable widows and I urge everyone to do the same.”

The woman was assaulted by residents of Umueghu in Amaegbuato autonomous community in the Nkpa Bende Local Government Area of Abia State for allegedly killing her husband.
