Some hoodlums who were arrested by men of Nigeran Police in Ogun State have made a shocking confession about what led to their arrest.
According to Daily Post report, the group of boys who are believed to be cultists besieged the palace of the Oba of Gbokoto Land, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba G.O Oukunle and started shooting sporadically.
Devasted by the development, the Monarch reportedly made a distress call to the police and officers from Oja- Odan Divisional Police Station were mobilized to the scene.
The boys who were said to belong to Eiye group were engaged in a gun battle by the police team who eventually subdued them. Six of them were consequently arrested and several weapons were recovered from them.
Speaking to Journalists while parading them on Monday, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident, saying it took the prompt intervention of the divisional police officers for the monarch not to have been killed.
He identified the arrested suspects as Ahmed Jelili, Micheal Ayodele, Monday Samuel, Ademola Matthew, Ogundele Ojeh and Sunkanmi Fadina.
According to Oyeyemi, the suspects confessed that it was the son of the monarch that invited them to come and kill his father over a lingering issue he (monarch) has been having with his mother.
The accused was however said to be at large while a manhunt has been launched against him by the police.
