What Peter Obi said about the fatal attack on Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy
Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has reacted to the attack on senator Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday which left at least five persons dead.
Gunmen ambushed the convoy of Ubah in the community of Enugwu Ukwu in Anambra state’s Njikoka Local Government Area.
The senator escaped death by whiskers, thanks to the bullet proof SUV vehicle he was driving in.
Obi, who is in the race in the 2023 presidential election, said on his Twitter handle that those who carried out the attack should be brought to book.
“The attack is condemnable and unacceptable. I hereby re-emphasise the urgent need for enhanced security of lives and property in society. I have continued to lay emphasis on the urgent need for enhanced security and protection of life and property in our society.
“Those who engage in these dastardly acts should be fished out swiftly using all machinery available to government, and promptly punished in accordance with our laws.
“I enjoin the Federal and State governments to strenuously strive to curb the menace of insecurity ravaging our Nation.” He said.
