FG Sets Up Committee To Review Labour’s Demands Over Fuel Subsidy Removal

The negotiation teams of the Federal Government and the organised labour have set up five committees to design frameworks on the demands Labour submitted and the alterations made to them by representatives of the government.

At their last meeting two weeks ago, the two parties adopted a resolution to meet on the 19th of this month to further their discussions on the size of palliatives presented by the organised labour.

Explaining the outcome of the meeting, the National President of the Trade Union Congress, Mr. Festus Osifo, however said the five committees were yet to be given terms of reference.

He said the committees were technical in nature, which needed the inputs of experts to fast track the implementation of their recommendations within 8 weeks.

Mr Osifo explained that a presidential steering committee would be needed to co-ordinate the implementation of the recommendations of the technical committeess set up by the two parties to achieve the intended purpose.
