PDP includes Wike, Makinde, Ekweremadu in campaign council
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday night announced names of members of its presidential campaign organisation.
In the list seen by RovingNaija, aggrieved members of the party, Nyesom Wike who is the governor of Rivers State and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde were included in the list.
This is coming less than 24 hours after Makinde reiterated to PDP presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, and other party members during a visit in Ibadan, that chairman of the party Iyorchia Ayu should resign for fairness and equity.
Ike Ekweremadu, former senate president, who is standing trial in the UK over alleged organ harvesting, is also a member of the council.
Umar Bature, PDP national organising secretary, announcing the development in a document said Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom, is the chairman of the campaign council; while Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto, is appointed as the director-general.
Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi, was listed as the vice-chairman of the council (north); and Seyi Makinde of Oyo, as vice chairman (south).
All PDP governors are among the members of the presidential campaign council, including Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state.
Other members of the campaign council include Liyel Imoke, former governor of Cross River, as deputy director-general of operations; Adewale Oladipo as deputy director-general, administration; Raymond Dokpesi as deputy director-general, technical and systems; and Okwesilieze Nwodo, as deputy director-general, research and strategy.
Bature said members of the campaign council will be inaugurated on September 28, in Abuja.
