2 People Die And 6 Injured In Multiple Auto Crash In Gombe

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has confirmed two persons dead and six others injured in three separate car crashes, which took place along Gombe bypass, towards Pantami on Friday.

The Corps Commander of the FRSC, Gombe State Command, Felix Theman, stated this in an interview with newsmen on Saturday.

Theman stated that the suspected causes of the accidents which involved one truck, one vehicle and one motorcycle were overloading, speeding and faulty vehicles.

He stated that those who sustained varying degrees of injury had been taken to hospitals for medical care and the corpses of the dead taken to the mortuary.

Theman further noted that the crashes took place in heavily populated areas with risks of casualties.

The commander said that in one of the crashes, a motorcyclist conveyed three passengers, noting that it was unacceptable as the corps had been sensitising them but some wouldn’t listen.

He further revealed that additional patrol vehicles and personnel would be deployed to those areas recording a series of crashes.
