I Attacked Him With Matchet For Assaulting My Girlfriend – Man Who Chopped Off Friend’s Wrist Confesses

A jealous lover has been arrested and detained in police custody for cutting his friend’s wrist while trying to defend his girlfriend in Nasarawa State.

The suspect, Usman Danladi who is 21 years old made the confession after he was arrested by the state police command and taken to the station.

The incident which happened at Auta Balefi community in Karu Local government area of the state was said to have involved one Jibrin Abdullahi.

According to the report published on Punch, Abdullahi was said to have had a misunderstanding with a lady known as Aisha who is believed to be the girlfriend of Danladi. The issue degenerated into a physical confrontation and Aisha was allegedly assaulted.

While trying to defend his girlfriend, Danladi reportedly attacked Abdullahi with a cutlass and chopped off his hand instantly. The victim was said to be 25 years old.

The development was confirmed by the Police spokesperson of Nasarawa Police command, DSP Ramhan Nansel.

In a statement which was made available on Monday by the police Spokesperson, Police operatives from Goshen City Division led by CSP Eunice Ogbadu swiftly raced to the scene of the incident after receiving the information and quickly rushed the victim to the Federal Medical Center, Keffi.

The suspect was consequently arrested. On getting to the station, he confessed that he chopped off Abdullahi’s wrist because he dared to harras his girlfriend, Aisha.

The statement read in part: “an intensive manhunt for the perpetrator of the dastardly act was instituted. The effort of the investigators paid off on September 17, 2022, when the prime suspect, one Usman Danladi, 21, aka Murderer, was arrested.

 “Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime but claimed that the victim earlier assaulted his girlfriend, Aisha, and when he confronted him, a fight ensued and in the process, he attacked the victim with a machete.”

Nansel said the state Commissioner of Police, Adesina Soyemi, directed the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia, for further investigation, after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
