Ortom: Injustice has been meted to Wike

While the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has refused to resolve, Benue State governor Samuel Ortom has called for justice for his colleague in Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

Wike has refused to mend fences with presidential candidate of the party Atiku Abubakar until his demands are met, one of which is the resignation of national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

Problem started when Wike lost the presidential primary to Atiku and was subsequently snubbed as running mate.

Speaking on Monday at a PDP caucus meeting in Makurdi, the Benue capital, Ortom said Wike has been unfairly treated and justice must prevail.

“The idea of dismissing people in politics that they do not matter is dangerous because a single vote counts in politics,” Ortom said.

“Injustice has been meted to governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers, and it must be addressed. Justice must be served to him.

“Wike stood and supported the party and he should be given due attention.”
