How Femi Adesina Responded When Asked  What Nigerians Should Expect From Buhari’s Trip To New York

Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Femi Adesina has given a sneak peak into what Nigerians should expect from president Muhammadu Buhari’s Trip to the United States of America where he is currently attending the 77th edition of United Nations General Assembly Meeting.

President Buhari left the country on Sunday with a litany of entourage who will be attending several meetings with him aside the main United Nations Head of States meeting which began on Monday and is expected to end on Friday.

The president will join other leaders of the world to discuss global issues like Climate change, post Covid-19 Economy, Russia-Ukrain War and other matters.

Having led a huge number of entourage to the event and will be there for one week at Nigerians expense, it is therefore expected that the outcome of the trip should be able to bring some smiles on the faces of Nigerians by the time the president and his team return on Friday.

Asked what Nigerians should therefore be expecting, Femi Adesina said he cannot exclusively disclose the outcome of the meeting that is not yet held but he is strongly believed that it will be positive.

Adesina stated this while featuring on Tuesday edition of Channels TV Politics Today.

According to the presidential Media Aide, there are several other meetings President Buhari will be having with president of other countries. These are meetings scheduled in the sidelines aside the main UNGA meeting.

He said though the president is expected to present a speech on Wednesday where he will talk about the situation of things in Nigeria and how it affects the rest of the world, however, there are meetings he will hold with leaders of other countries that will be more economically rewarding.

Adesina said he could not disclose the outcome of meetings that have not been held yet. But he is certained that those meetings which are bilateral will be highly impactful and beneficial at the end.

Okinbaloye however reminded him that Nigerians are highly expectant because for the president to have gone with such a huge number of entourage at the time the country is in financial distress should not be something to toy with.
