It Will Amount To Political Suicide If Gov. Wike And His People Attempt To Go To Another Party – Dele Momodu

Former presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, Aare Dele Momodu has given reasons it will be difficult for Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and his group members to decamp to another party at this time.

Wike has remained one of the most talked about politicians in Nigeria at the moment following the crisis that has been brewing between him and the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar.

On Wednesday, Wike and members of his group announced their withdrawal from Atiku’s campaign council on the basis that the Chairman of the Party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu must step down for a southern candidate to assume office.

Atiku, while reacting to the call for Ayu’s removal disclosed that he has no singular power to remove the chairman and the body that can do that has already passed a vote of confidence in him.

Reacting to the whole saga while featuring on Thursday edition of Arise News Morning Show, Dele Momodu appealed to Governor Wike and his group to slow down in the way they are going about their grievances.

Bob D as fondly called admitted that there were mistakes in the first place but that is not enough to destroy the party.

The publisher of Ovation Magazine explained that Wike is one of the strongest leaders of the party whom the party cannot allow to lose out just like that.

But his call for Ayu’s removal is not what an individual member of the party like Atiku can grant. The party’s constitution must be duly followed and that is what everyone is saying.

He however revealed that if the Rivers State governor and his group members should leave the PDP and support another party in 2023, it will be a great political suicide.

Bob D explained that how will they campaign for a presidential candidate of another party and next week, they are asking people to vote governorship or other candidates of their party?

He explained that someone like Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State will think twice in taking such a decision because of the risk it will pose to his second term ambition.

The veteran Journalist advised the Wike’s camp to thread with caution in their agitation.
