If You Remove Ayu And PDP Dies The Next Day, What Have You Gained? Dele Momodu Asks Wike
Publisher of Ovation Magazine and former presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party has expressed his worries over the lingering crisis plaguing the affairs of the party at the national level.
Momodu was on Arise TV Morning Show on Thursday where he spoke extensively about the state of affairs in the party and the danger the disagreement between governor Nyesom Wike and Atiku Abubakar poses for the party ahead of 2023.
According to the veteran Journalist, there is need for governor Wike to slow down with the way he is going about his agitation for Ayu to step down as party Chairman. He revealed that the Rivers State governor has every reason to be angry but he needs to consider the consequences of his action on the entire party if he drives the matter too far.
Dele Momodu emphasized that no one can singlehandedly remove the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu. He can only be removed through the constitution of the party or if he decides to step down voluntarily. And since he has not done that, there should be other way of handling a complicated situation like that.
Dele Momodu stated that it is normal to beat a child when he does something wrong and nobody will question you. But when you beat such a child to death, people will question you and will call you a murderer.
In other word, Wike has expressed his grievances and everybody has listened to him. He however needs to wait for the leadership of the party to respond and address his complain.
He asked that if he uses all forces to remove Iyorchia Ayu today and the party dies tomorrow, what will he gain at the end of the day?
