It is becoming a sad incident, coming as a shock to society as some mothers haven’t stopped dumping innocent newborn babies in the bin. On Friday, the Lagos State Police Command disclosed that a day-old baby wrapped in a polythene bag, was recovered from a dustbin after its mother dumped it there.
He did not disclose the location where the baby was found, but uploaded the photo of the baby on his Twitter handle on Thursday and said save for the quick detention, the baby would have died, as he added that the baby is doing fine.
Hundeyin appealed to ladies to strive to prevent unwanted pregnancies, as it is better than killing the baby, not forgetting to mention that infanticide is a crime and is punishable by law.
In his words: “A day old baby was found wrapped in a polythene bag in a dustbin. Save for quick detection, baby would have died. Baby is doing fine. Prevent the pregnancy. It’s better than killing the baby. Infanticide is a crime!”
