Four persons escaped being lynched by angry mob over alleged attempt to kidnap a 10-year-old girl.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the development in a tweet.
“These four elderly people allegedly attempted to kidnap a 10-year-old girl. People around apprehended them and beat them black and blue.
Hundeyin advised residents to stop jungle justice and report suspected crime to the police.
“The police arrived on time. Investigation is ongoing. Stop jungle justice! Report crime and criminals to the police.”
