What Iker Casillas said about affair with Pique’s estrange wife Shakira

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has reacted to rumours making the round that he is dating Barcelona defender’s estranged wife Shakira.

Gerard Pique and singer Shakira have been separated since June after twelve years together. Casillas, 41, is recently divorced from Spanish journalist Sara Carbonero.

The Spaniard’s recent follow of Shakira on Instagram had fuelled speculation on the nature of the pair’s relationship, but Casillas has taken to the social media platform to rubbish the rumours that his now dating the Grammy Award winner.

In a series of images across his Instagram stories, the former goalkeeper posted screen grabs of articles eluding to his new relationship and then finished off with an emoji indicating he doesn’t know where these stories came from.

Adding the message ‘Tocate las narices’ which translates to ‘touch your nose’ and another emoji using the phrase ‘OMG’ in an angry reaction to the reports.

Casillas ended his marriage in 2021 after five years and two children with journalist Sara Carbonero.

They famously enjoyed a romantic moment on live television when Carbonero interviewed the goalkeeper just moments after he had won the World Cup with Spain. However, the pair ended things amicably after twelve years together.
