You Had One Shot On Target, Woeful Performance – Arise News Presenter Roasts Super Eagles

Rufai Oseni, the co-presenter of The Morning Show on Arise News has expressed his disappointment over the poor performance of the Nigerian Super Eagles in the final match of the African Cup of Nations against the host country.

The popular journalist revealed that he had expected the team would do everything to win the cup in honour of football loving Nigerians who died while watching the semifinal match against South Africa.

In a series of tweets via his X account after the game, Mr. Oseni said Jose Peseiro’s men gave a ‘woeful’ display against the host, adding that they only had just one shot on goal.

He tweeted, “Don’t politicize this loss, it’s not about politics, the team was woeful.

“We had just one shot on goal! We were terrible today.

“So upset I really hoped the boys would win it for those that died during the semifinals. That makes me sad.

“So let’s go back to our problems, food is expensive ooo.”

Ivory Coast came from behind to beat Nigeria 2-1.

William Troost-Ekong scored for Nigeria, while Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller scored for Ivory Coast.
