Days After Face-Off Between Kogi State Govt And Dangote Group, House Of Assembly Gutted By Fire

The Kogi State House of Assembly is presently on fire.

The incident was coming few days after the reported clash between Dangote Group and the state government.

It was learnt that the Chambers and Gallery of the House of Assembly were affected by the inferno.

The actual cause of the fire outbreak, which occurred on Monday morning is not yet known.

According to the Speaker of the House, Mathew Kolawole, he suspects sabotage but he could not ascertain where the suspected sabotage might be from.

Asked whether it might have been linked with the recent face-off between the Kogi State government and Dangote Group, he said that is left to the security to determine.

“We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward,” the speaker said.
