What Aisha Yesufu Said After Digging Up Atiku’s Old Comment On Peter Obi’s Competence And Capacity

As the race to Aso Rock begins to get intense by the day, more facts have begun to emerge about the candidature of each of the four leading presidential candidates for the 2023 general election.

On Monday, a female activist and social media influencer, Aisha Yesufu successfully dug out the old tweet made by the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and asked supporters of the former vice president as well as PDP members to take note of it.

In the tweet, Atiku who was also the party standard bearer in 2019 lamented that PDP administration successfully cleared all the foreign debt Nigeria was owing before former president Goodluck Jonathan left office in 2015.

But unfortunately, the APC government had plunged the country back into another round of debt regime.

Asked by his tweeter follower how he planned to manage the debt and rid Nigeria of foreign debt if he becomes president in 2019, Atiku responded that Peter Obi has the capacity to manage a situation of that nature. He said he is very good in cutting down on the cost of governance and he will manage Nigeria’s debt effectively.

However, the conversation which actually ensued in 2019 was dug out by Aisha Yesufu and made a trending discussion on tweeter.

She simply wrote: “This was why it didn’t make sense for PDP to keep attacking Peter Obi. They had more to lose.”

The development attracted attentions because Peter Obi who was at the centre of the discussion is currently one of the four leading contestants for the presidential election scheduled for next year.

The former governor of Anambra state has disrupted the political space owing to his massive acceptance by the Nigerian youths who regarded themselves as OBIDIENTS.

And Aisha Yesufu appears to have keyed into the Obidients’ movement on social media.
