It Is A Definitive And Resounding Red Flag- Keyamo Reacts To Wike’s Absence From PDP Campaign Flag Off
Since the opposition People’s Democratic Party flagged off their presidential campaign on Monday, there have been incoherent responses to the development that greeted the occasion from Nigerians.
Despite the mammoth crowd that welcomed the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to Akwa Ibom where the event took place, the absence of Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike and other governors elected under the platform of the party has been the major focus of discussion in the public.
Wike who has been at loggerheads with the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu was conspicuously absent from the rally alongside his allies within the party.
Reacting to the absence of the Rivers Governor and others, the ruling All Progressive Congress through the spokesman of Tinubu Shettima’s Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, said Nigerians should take it as a red flag.
Festus Keyamo, who made this known in a statement issued on Monday, disclosed that when you have a flag off campaign shunned by the National vice Chairman of South-South and South West, as well as five sitting governors out of thirteen, it is a definitive and resounding red flag.
The statement read in part: “If the people’s representatives at the state levels are so unanimously against their party’s candidate that they would shun his campaign launch, then indeed, we would say to Nigerians, A word is enough for the wise”
