Festus Keyamo Reacts To The Crowd That Welcomed Tinubu To Abeokuta On His Visit To OBJ

While many Nigerians were of the belief that the mammoth crowd that witnessed the arrival of presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Abeokuta on Wednesday are mere onlookers without electoral value, one thing that cannot be ruled out was the fact that the Ogun state capital was literally shut down for the former governor of Lagos State.

Tinubu visited the state for a close-door meeting with the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and also to check on his supporters in the state. He stated this while addressing them at the MKO Abiola stadium shortly after his meeting with Obasanjo.

However, what has remained a subject of discussion since the visit is the huge crowed that did not only welcome him to the state but also followed him around everywhere he went across the state capital.

The crowd of supporters had earlier in the day gathered at the entrance of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library to formally receive the APC Flagbearer into the state.

Reacting to the warm welcome given to Tinubu, the Minister of state for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo said the people are the real electorates who will vote on election day.

He described them as the real voters who will vote in 2023. He said, “the demographic is shaping up. These people will vote in 2023 and their votes will count.”

The Tinubu campaign spokesman stated this on twitter while reacting to the development.
