What Tonto Dikeh Said After She Was Nominated As Deputy Governorship Candidate In Rivers State

Nollywood Star Actress, Tonto Dikeh has reacted to her nomination as deputy Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC in Rivers State.

The social media influencer was nominated by the party standard bearer Tonte Ibraye on Friday which was made known on her Twitter and Instagram page.

Ibraye is one of the strongest contenders to succeed governor Nyesom Wike after his tenure in 2023. He emerged as governorship candidate of the party after defeating three other aspirants in a keenly contested party primary about two weeks ago.

His choice of Tonto Dikeh as running mate was informed by the general clamour and agitation for women inclusion in politics. The decision is expected to encourage women in the state to strive for the highest office both in the state and federal level.

It is also expected that the popular actress will use her influence in the social circle to promote, propagate and spread the gospel of the governorship candidate, party philosophy and also draw votes for the party during the governorship election.

Reacting to her nomination as deputy Governorship Candidate in the state, Tonto Dikeh thanked her benefactor and the party for considering her worthy of the nomination for the plum job.

She however said they are looking at investing in social protection, creating social value system and increased women inclusion in governance.She advised the people to get their PVC’s.

Tonto Dikeh stated this in reaction to her emergence as deputy Governorship Candidate to the ADC Candidate in Rivers State.
