Wike endorses Sanwo-Olu for second term – Lagos govt claims

Lagos State government has claimed that Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has endorsed Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for second term.

Wike is a governor of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Sanwo-Olu is an All Progressives Congress (APC) governor of Lagos State.

The latest claim was made by Sanwo-Olu’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, in a terse statement on Tuesday.

“Breaking: Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike endorses Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for second term in office. Details later,” Akosile wrote.

The endorsement comes despite Wike’s party, the PDP, having a governorship candidate in Lagos, in the person of Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor.

Neither Wike nor any of his aides has confirmed the claim at the time of this report.
