Former APC Presidential Aspirant Dumps Tinubu, Declares Support For Peter Obi

A former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019, Charles Udeogaranya has abandoned the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu.

Udeogeranya in a statement released on Tuesday declared support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

According to Udeogaranya, the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling party is a clear sign of an Islamisation agenda and a despotic government.

The former presidential aspirant described Obi as the most credible candidate to lead Nigeria out of the woods in 2023.

Udeogaranya said there is a grave need for Nigerians to shun primordial sentiments and vote for the right candidate because “times like these demand patriotism and self-help to make the best decisions for our country Nigeria.”

He expressed his bitterness about the state of the country’s economy which has driven Nigerians to the lowest ebb of desperation.

Udeogaranya’s decision to endorse the former Governor of Anambra State is coming a few months after another presidential aspirant under the ruling party, S.K.C. Ogbonnia withdrew his support for Tinubu.

Ogbonnia in his announcement had publicly declared support for Obi in the 2023 presidential election.

The former presidential aspirant while giving the reason for his decision had attributed it to Tinubu’s frailty and “shady background.”
