BREAKING: UK Prime Minister Liz Truss quits after just 6 weeks

Liz Truss has resigned her position as the prime minister of the United Kingdom after just six weeks on the position.

Truss replaced Boris Johnson when she assumed office on September 5, 2022.

She announced her resignation as prime minister on Thursday.

“I recognise given the situation I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative party. I’ve spoken to his majesty the King to notify him I’m resigning as leader of the Conservative party,” she said.

There will be a leadership election in the next week.
