Nigeria’s apex bank has introduced newly designed naira notes of ₦200, ₦500 and ₦1,000.
Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele at a news briefing at the CBN headquarters in Abuja, made the announcement on Wednesday.
In a video seen by RovingNaija, Emefiele said circulation of the new notes will begin from December 15, 2022.
The old notes will remain valid until January 31, 2023.
All holders of the old notes to begin returning old notes immediately.
Meanwhile, bank charges for cash deposits have been suspended.
