National office of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Yaba, Lagos, has been razed by fire.
The extent of damage caused by the early Wednesday morning fire outbreak is yet to be ascertained at the time of this report.
A report monitored on a Lagos radio, Bond FM, explained that firefighters from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) have arrived at the scene of the incident to extinguish the fire.
An eyewitness account on the programme said a staff of the council trapped in between some floors was observed attempting to jump through the windows of the 12th-floor magnificent building to escape being suffocated.
No official of the council could be reached for details.
