Amotekun Begins Special Security Operation Across Southwest Ahead Of Yuletide Season
In a bid to address criminal activities during Yuletide season, Western Nigerian Security Network, codenamed Amotekun on Friday, embarked on inter border patrol.
The exercise is between Ondo State and Osun State officers of the Western Nigerian Security Network Agency while Ekiti, Ogun and Oyo states will be launched at a later date.
This operation is tagged “Operation Gbale Gbako” to ensure sanity both at home, in the forest, on the roads, in the sea, everywhere within the Southwest part of this country.
While declaring the border patrol open and addressing the people at Owena border town, Ondo State Amotekun Commander and Chairman of Southwest Amotekun Commanders, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, explained that the exercise is to ensure hitch-free Christmas and new year celebrations in the southwest zone and its borders.
Chief Adeleye who is also the Special Adviser to the Ondo state Governor on Security matters, assured motorists and residents of their security before, during and after the yuletide.
On his part, the Amotekun Commander in Osun State, Retired Brigadier General Aderounbi, tasked the community to cooperate with the security agency and make sure that this time around, another huge success is recorded to bring improved security to lives and property of people in the Southwest region.
Some residents of Owena border town, Jide Oyedeji and Samuel Adeboye, commended Amotekun Corps for ensuring security of Southwest people over the years.
