Oshiomole Blames Peter Obi For High Rate Of Unemployment In Nigeria
Former governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole has claimed that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi is responsible for high unemployment in Nigeria.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Edo North, made this claim during the weekend kickoff of his campaign in the Auchi region of the State.
The former APC National Chairman said Obi is a contributory factor to the high rate of unemployment by bringing in finished items into the country which in Oshiomole’s estimation, increased unemployment in Nigeria.
“Obi owns the largest retail center in Abuja, and everything sold is imported, if he is selling foreign wines, clothes, and other goods, he is contributing to why Nigeria is declining because he is bringing unemployment to Nigeria and creating jobs abroad,”
As of the fourth quarter of 2020, records show that the Nigerian unemployment rate was 33 percent and the ruling party is to blame for the nation’s high unemployment rate, even though Obi has centered his campaign on a Nigeria with a production economy, ever since he was announced as the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
