What Buhari Discussed With Tinubu, Adamu After Arriving At Abuja From UK Medical Trip
The details of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu, have emerged.
The Nigerian leader, on Sunday night, met with Tinubu and Adamu, hours after he returned to Abuja from London in the United Kingdom after embarking on a two-week medical check-up.
The Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad, made this known in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle last night.
He wrote: “JUST IN: President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and Chairman of our great party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, ahead of the formal presidential campaign flag-off later in the week.”
Speaking to The Nation on Monday morning, Ahmad said the trio met to discuss the formal flag-off of the party’s presidential campaign, scheduled to take place on Tuesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The presidential aide added that Adamu and Tinubu briefed the President on the preparations made for the official kick-off of the party’s presidential campaign.
“All I know about the meeting is that it was for the preparation towards the kick-off of the campaigns taking place in Plateau tomorrow,” Ahmad said.
