Brigadier -General Buba Marwa,the Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has revealed how young Nigerians who are addicted to drugs go about its consumption to avoid suspicion, arrest and prosecution.
Marwa made the revelation while delivering a keynote address at the 10th Anniversary of Realnews Magazine and Investiture of Hall of Fame in Lagos on Thursday.
The former military administrator of Lagos, who has been consistent in the fight against drug abuse, harped on why the youths must shun the act at all cost.
According to him, many Nigerian Youths have devised the means of taking canabbis through another way without necessarily puffing and exhaling it in the usual way that is already known.
He revealed that a lot of youths now inject it into their cookies, brownies, pepper soup and drinks.
He said: “A lot of young people who engage in the consumption of illicit and dangerous drug now infuse cannabis in cookies and brownies, pepper soup and drinks.”
Marwa also added that NDLEA’s activities since January 2021 has further reinforced the fact of Nigeria being an important hub in the global illicit drug network, and that the country was not only a transit pipeline but also a market.
