Soldier who shot dead his colleague and an NGO staff has been killed
A soldier who opened fire on his own colleague and one staff of an NGO, has been killed.
TheCable report that troops killed the soldier after his unfortunate action.
The soldier had shot and killed a staff of one of the NGOs providing humanitarian support in the North East before killing another soldier and injuring the co-pilot of one of the UN helicopters.
Assistant director of army public relations, Samson Zhakom, said “The injured co-pilot has been stabilized while the corpses of the deceased have been moved to the 7 Division Hospital. Detailed investigation into the incident and subsequent remedial actions have commenced into the highly regrettable incident”.
The development comes hours after Audu James, a brigadier-general in the Nigerian army, was killed in a car crash in Lagos.
James was said to have been knocked down by a soldier who was drunk.
James, the monitor-general of the senior executive course (SEC) 40 at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Kuru, Plateau state, had died from injuries sustained after he was knocked down.
