Organisers of the Nigeria Pitch Awards have announced arrangement for the 9th edition of the annual event.
The ceremony is organised to reward footballers – both male and female, junior and senior players – administrators, coaches, clubs, sponsors, and journalists for their commitment and passion for football and the country.
The event which started in 2013 has continued to grow bigger and gaining more recognition in Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday to announce plans for the awards, president of the Nigeria Pitch Awards Shina Philips said the events leading to the award ceremony will begin on December 1, 2022.
According to him, the 9th edition will maintain the core principles of credibility, transparency, and integrity the ceremony is known for.
“The 9th edition of the awards will kick off on the 1st of December 2022 with the voting process which will end on the 16th of January.
“The announcement of nominees will be made on the 21st of February 2023, while the award ceremony is tentatively scheduled to hold in March 2023.”
Representative of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ademola Olajire said the Nigeria Pitch Awards has always got the backings of the federation, and will continue to do so.
The NFF communication director added that the new leadership headed by president Ibrahim Gusau is strongly behind Matchmakers Consult, organisers of the event.
