‘We need votes not logistics support’ – Umahi tells Wike

Governor of Ebonyi State Dave Umahi has told his Rivers State counterpart Nyesom Wike that the All Progressives Congress (wants) votes not loistics support in Rivers state.

Umahi was in the state for the inauguration of the Akpabu-Itu-Omudiogha-Egbeda road in Emohua LGA on Tuesday.

Wike had on Monday promised to give Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), logistics support for his campaign in the state.

Wike had also promised to give Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), logistics support for his campaign in the state.

While speaking at the event, Umahi said for Bola Tinubu, APC presidential candidate, what the party needs is the support of Rivers in terms of votes.

“Here, you are 99 percent in control because of what you’re doing for the people. And I want to commend you. And I thank you for not putting any kobo in Ebonyi again,” Umahi said.

“In Ebot need logistics. We’ve seen the presidential candidates come here and you are a doer of promise. And when you say you’ll give logistics support, we know you will.

“But you see, APC, we don’t need logistics support; we need votes — just for the presidential one. I will not ask what is impossible. So, that presidential one, keep it for asiwaju.”
