Fear Of The Unknown: Few Hours To End Of His Tenure, Oyetola’s Commissioners Flee Abroad

Not less than three commissioners from the cabinet of the outgoing governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, have reportedly left the country for fear of the unknown.

While people of the state await the end of this administration by Saturday, it has been reported that about seven of his top aides which include three commissioners have fled abroad on  Thursday.

According to a report from concerned citizens group, it was gathered that a commissioner who played a key role in the few sordidly executed projects of the administration is expected to leave Nigeria for a North American country.

The commissioner in question was said to have handled several controversial programmes whose worthy, costing and procurement processes have been openly questioned and challenged as questionable and corruption tainted.

The concerned citizens also alleged that another commissioner who authorised multiple payments and awards among key parastatals under his ministry is cited as having left the country. He was reputed to have awarded and paid contractors even before they secured award letters.

The group added that the head of a counterpart funded agency of government with multi-billion naira resources has also sneaked out of Osogbo. His friends said his destination is a European country.

Lastly, the concerned citizens said the Chairman of a notorious commission who blew almost one billion naira of government fund on an illegal programme is reported to be out of the country already. They said “Rather than face the indictment from fund sharing that is already within public domain, the lawyer has transited to a European country”.
