Barely 24 Hours After Inauguration, Adeleke Makes A Grand Entry Into Governor’s Office Amidst Excited Crowd
The newly sworn-in Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has resumed work, at the Government House, Oshogbo.
RovingNaija reported that the swearing-in of Adeleke, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took place on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
Barely 24 hours after the memorable event, the Governor has resumed work, which insinuates his readiness to carry out his activities.
A video shared online captured a mammoth crowd who had stormed the Government House to welcome the new Governor.
Adeleke’s convoy could be seen trying to navigate their way amidst the crowd.
Meanwhile, Adeleke has directed career heads of Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Area Councils Development Areas (ACDAs) in the state to take control and charge of their councils.
The former council chairmen and councillors were reportedly sacked by the court. The new directive from Adeleke through his spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, says the LGA heads are to take full charge of the offices with immediate effect.
“Governor Adeleke also directed the most senior career heads across all the local government areas, to take charge of their councils.
“This is in compliance with the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo that sacked the council Local Government Chairmen and Councilors,” the government said.
It could be recalled that the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, presided by Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel on Friday declared null and void the local government election conducted by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, (OSIEC).
