EPL Round-Up: Ronaldo fires Man United back to winning ways

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal and also provided an assist on Saturday as Manchester United returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 3-0 victory away to Tottenham Hotspur.

The handsome win was badly needed for the Red Devils who had been under fire lately for their underwhelming performances; especially the 5-0 annihilation in the hands of Liverpool at Anfield.

Ronaldo set the day’s tone scoring off an assist from his countryman, Bruno Fernandes in the 22nd minute before turning provider for his strike partner Edison Cavani in the 44th minute.

While it largely looked like the two goals by the veteran strikers will be enough to carry the day, Marcus Rashford popped up with a late goal to seal a comprehensive win for the Red Devils and effectively ease the pressure on Manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

Saturday’s win sees United overtake Arsenal in fifth position albeit with just a superior goals difference as both teams are tied on 17 points after 10 games respectively.
