Few weeks To Election, Ondo Assembly Recalls Two Suspended Lawmakers

Ondo State house of assembly has recalled two lawmakers whose seats were declared vacant earlier this year.

They are lawmakers representing Ilaje constituency II, Favour Tomomewo and Ese Odo constituency, Success Torhukerhijo.

The two lawmakers seats were declared vacant on 9th of August by the house following a letter from the state chairman All Progressive Congress Mr Ade Adetimehin, requesting the house to declare vacant their seats, saying that both lawmakers allegedly participated fully in the activities of another party, PDP, during the last governorship and house of assembly primary elections in the state.

The Decision was taken at plenary presided by the speaker Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun.

At the resumed plenary, the Clark of the house Mr Benjamin Jayeola read two letters from the state chairman of APC indicating that the lawmakers have repledged their allegiance to the party.

The letters added that the lawmakers had shown remorse for their actions .

Responding the Speaker, Mr Oleyelogun who ruled for their reinstatements, ordered the clerk to inform the state accountant general to restore their allowances and entitlements and also communicate INEC too.

The speaker also called for the corporation of all lawmakers to further enshrine peace in the chamber.

Responding the house unanimously agreed to lift the suspension placed on them.
