The marriage of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the founder and senior pastor of Word of Life Bible Church, located in Warri, Delta State has reportedly crashed with some news outlets saying that the cleric has opted for divorce.
According to an exclusive report by ENigeria Newspaper, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, who is married to Helen, has moved out of his matrimonial home to a safe location.
Oritsejafor, who recently marked his 70th birthday in a series of glamourous events, married Helen a year and a month after his first wife, Stella passed away in 1996. He founded the Word of Life Church with his late wife in November of 1987.
Some members of the Church who spoke under the condition of anonymity to the online platform said that Helen has been physically attacking Papa Ayo Oritsejafor regularly.
“She has been attacking Papa Ayo each time he came back home from church and it’s no longer funny,” one of them is quoted as saying.
“Papa had to move out of their matrimonial home and camped in an unknown location for fear of his life because she has made some threats too”.
According to a source, Helen also stopped attending church services for a while.
Another member, while collaborating on the story, said, “They have been at loggerheads since 2020, when mama Helen left the house to the United Kingdom before some top members went and plead on papa’s behalf for her to come back home”.
Helen is the mother of the pastor’s only three children, who are triplets – two sons and a daughter, Ayodele Joseph, Ayodeji, and Ayodeta.
Pastor Ayo was the first Pentecostal pastor to serve as president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), a position he held for five years.
