Update: Emefiele Pleads Not Guilty To 20-Count Amended Charges

Former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has pleaded not guilty to the amended 20-count charge against him by the federal government.

After taking his plea, trial judge Hamza Muazu adjourned the case till February 12 and 13, 2024 for the commencement of trial.

The trial judge, Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, also permitted Godwin Emefiele to travel outside the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with the restriction that the travel must be within the country.
