Despite Disagreement, Atiku Prays For Gov. Wike On 55th Birthday
The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has reached out to the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike on the occasion of his 55 birthday.
The former vice president greeted the governor on his verified twitter handle on Tuesday.
According to the tweeter post, Atiku prayed for Wike that all lines will fall in pleasant places for him as he turns 55 years today.
He wrote: “As you turn 55 today, I pray that all lines fall in pleasant places for you. Enjoy your special day. -AA”
The tweet is coming in the midst of lingering disagreement between the presidential candidate and Rivers State governor over his failure to prevail on the National Chairman of PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu to resign.
Wike, after losing the PDP presidential ticket to Atiku at the party’s primary and the vice presidential slot to the governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has insisted that Ayu should resign for the sake of equity, fairness and justice within the party.
Wike claimed that both the presidential candidate and National Chairman of the party cannot come from the same geopolitical zone.
His request which has not yet been granted has become the basis on which he is hanging his support for the party in the forthcoming presidential election slated for February 2023.
