If Not For Your Old Age, I Would Have Described You As Useless Elders- Abati Replies Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga

Arise News Morning Show anchor, Reuben Abati has taken the media directorate of APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the cleaner over the recent allegation leveled against the media house and its owner, Nduka Obaigbena.

Dele Alake, the Media Adviser and Bayo Onanuga, Director of Communication and Strategy to the APC standard bearer have released a four- page statement where they allegedly attacked the personality of Obaigbena and Abati over their critical stance on Tinubu’s candidacy and his refusal to come out and speak to Nigerians about his plans in 2023.

RovingNaija News had earlier reported that the APC Media directorate in the statement described Obaigbena as unscrupulous hustler, debtor, partisan and the most irresponsible media owner in Nigeria.

They also described Reuben Abati as a card carrying member of PDP who was once convicted by EFCC for collecting 500 million naira from Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser who allegedly mismanaged the sum of 2.1 billion dollars meant for the purchase of Military equipment to fight insurgency. Abati was accused of being a running mate to the late former Ogun State governorship candidate, Buruji Kashamu who was accused of dealing in narcotic substance in America.

Responding to the attack during the Wednesday edition of Morning Show, Abati described Alake and Onanuga as unworthy elders in journalism profession.

According to him, the same Bayo Onanuga who is accusing Obaigbena of non payment of salaries, is the MD of The News Magazine who has been owing staff salaries for many months.

He said both Alake and Onanuga have made more enemies for their principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in this electioneering campaign. As a Media team, Abati revealed that Alake and Onanuga are expected to make more friends for Tinubu and help him propagate his message to Nigerians but rather, they are busy attacking journalists who are doing their legitimate job.

He noted that it is sad at this stage to be explaining the role of Journalist to Dele Alake and Bayo Onanuga in an election period.

Abati revealed that it is not in Yoruba parlance to insult the elders. If not, he would have described the two of them as useless and shameless elders.
