Man Collapses, Hospitalized After Wife & 5-Year Old Daughter Are Hacked To Death By Assailants

Malam Akilu Altine, a resident of Birnin Kebbi is currently battling with emotional and psychological trauma of losing his wife and a 5-year old daughter to a tragic and violent death which occured on Sunday night.

Akilu received the shocking news while he was in his place of work around 4am on Monday and rather than letting out his emotions, he simply slumped and passed out. He was later rushed to the hospital.

According to the elder sister of his late wife who narrated the incident, the husband who is a tailor by profession left home for work around 1am on that fateful day.

By 4am, the unknown assailant reportedly invaded their residence along Labana Rice Mill, Birnin Kebbi. They were said to have macheted the 25-year old Saddiya and her 5-year old daughter, Amina to death.

On hearing the sad news, Akilu collapsed and became unconscious. He was consequently rushed to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital in Birnin Kebbi where he is currently receiving treatment.

During his condolence visit to the family of the victims on Monday, the State Deputy Governor, Sama’ila Yombe Dabai condemned the attack and assured that security agencies will launch an investigation into the matter with a view to nabbing the culprits and bring them to book.

He also visited the hospital to commiserate with the husband.
