Unlike Others, Osinbajo Reportedly Devises New Strategy To Declare For President

If the news currently circulating across the media space is anything to go by, Nigerians should expect the official declaration of the vice president on Monday to contest for 2023.

Osinbajo had reportedly met with governors under the platform of the All Progressive Congress on Sunday to intimate them of his intention to contest for the president.

The latest development is gradually putting to rest the widespread and long time speculations about his plans to take over the mantle from president Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The vice president, if eventually declared will join the pool of presidential aspirants who are jostling to pick the ticket of the ruling party and slug it out with other candidates from the opposition parties.

However, Osinbajo may not likely toe the same path with others in his declaration on Monday.
According to an exclusive report on Premium Time which was published on Sunday, a reliable source privy to arrangement on the announcement, Osinbajo will not put up an event or organize a large gathering to ventilate his ambition.

He is expected to broadcast his intention in a short video recording of about 7 to 10 minutes which will be shared on his social media platforms.

Once this is done, the source disclossed that his campaign group will kick off an aggressive campaign and mobilization.

This strategy is a paradigm shift from the regular jamboree usually organized by aspirants to declare their interest for elective political offices.

So far, about five aspirants from the All Progressive Congress have officially declared their interest to run for president in 2023. They include Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Former governor of Lagos, Rochas Okorocha, former governor of Imo state, Dave Umahi, Governor of Ebonyi State, Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi state, and Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation.

While some of these aspirants simply organized a press conference to address the press about their presidential ambition after officially notifying president Buhari at the villa, others organized tumultuous rallies to convey their messages.

If Osinbajo eventually made his intention known through the video recording as disclossed by the inside source, the vice president would be the only aspirant to have followed that path in the APC.
