The Youths Programme That Momentarily Turns Obasanjo To Keke Rider In Abeokuta

Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo tested his skill as Keke Napep rider in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Saturday.

Residents of the city were in shock following the sight of the elderstatesman behind the wheel of the tricycle popularly known as Maruwa. Obasanjo didn’t just ride the three wheeler, he was also seen picking passengers and taking them to their destinations in exchange for money.

However, Obasanjo did not embark on the transport activity just for the fun of it. It was part of the activities marking his 85th birthday and Free Keke programme of the Youths Development Center of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.

As a way of demonstrating his mastery of the game, Obasanjo rode the tricycle across some of the popular roads in the state capital. Among the popular roads include NNPC, Kuto and others.

However, the former president used the opportunity to advise the Youths to rise up to the challenges in the country. He told them that things are not the way they should be in the country and they need to make contributions individually and collectively to make things the way they should be.

According to him, if they should wait for those who said they are the leaders of tomorrow, that tomorrow may not come. They have to fight their ways to make things right and make the country work.

OBJ as fondly called simply used the Keke riding spree to get his message across to the Youths and that purpose was achieved.
