Court Remands Jobless Man For Attempted Robbery In Ibadan
A Magistrates’ Court in the Iyanganku area of Ibadan, Oyo State, has ordered the remand of a 32-year-old unemployed man identified as Abdullahi Abdulkadiri, in a Correctional Centre for alleged attempted armed robbery.
According to reports, Abdulkadiri, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with conspiracy and attempted armed robbery, as the Magistrate, Mrs O. A Akande, did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction but directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions pending legal advice.
She adjourned the case until February 22 for mention.
The Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan told the court that the defendant and others at large allegedly conspired to commit the offence, as he alleged that he committed the offence on December 26, 2022, at about 7 pm in Ogbomoso district, stating that the defendant, while armed with sticks, and cutlasses, allegedly attempted to rob Opeyemi Adeoye of his motorcycle worth N400, 000.
