I Met With UK Govt. Officials -Atiku Insists, Dispels Ill-Health Rumour After Returning To Nigeria
Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has reaffirmed his mission to the United Kingdom following his return to Nigeria on Friday.
Atiku got back to Nigeria after days of embarking on series of meetings at the United Kingdom.
He was said to have travelled to Dubai from where he went to the UK for meetings with key government officials.
During his time abroad, there were reports that the former vice president was ill and receiving treatment.
But Paul Ibe, Atiku’s spokesman, denied this stating that the trip was at the invitation of British officials.
He also held a closed-door meeting with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Reverend Justin Welby, in the United Kingdom.
Governors Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), who are key members of his presidential campaign, accompanied him on the trip.
However, the PDP presidential candidate reportedly returned to the country on Friday and was received by some of his party chieftains and members of presidential campaign committee.
Speaking to Journalists on his trip to UK, Atiku through his spokesperson, Paul Ibe disclosed that he actually traveled to London on the invitation of UK Government officials.
He dispelled rumours that the former vice president was rushed to UK for medical treatment because he was sick.
