Goods & Properties Worth Millions Of Naira Destroyed In Midnight Fire Outbreak At Ibadan Market 

Several spare part sellers in Araromi area of Ibadan woke up with agonizing tears on Saturday following the midnight fire outbreak that gutted the market.

In a report published by Punch Metro, it was gathered that not less than ten shops were razed with goods worth millions of naira destroyed in the inferno.

The market situated in Araromi, Ibadan Oyo State is noted for the sale of spare parts and other products relating to vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles.

According to the report, it was gathered that the incident occurred around 2am on Saturday as a result of the burning of refuse by yet to be identified people within the market premises.

One of the spare parts sellers, Olajide Ige, told news correspondent on the phone that about 10 shops were affected and goods worth millions of naira were razed.

By Saturday morning when some of the sellers decided to resume their daily activities, what they met in the market was the ruins and remnants of their goods. Many shops were also said to be burnt beyond repair.

Shop owners and others who lost their goods in the disaster have however called on the state government to come to their aids, saying they have lost their source of livelihood in the fire outbreak.
