Lagos Government Declares Work-free Days For Civil Servants For The Collection Of PVCs

As part of efforts to ensure that every Nigerian, especially civil servants in Lagos get their Permanent Voters’ Card, the Lagos state government has declared some work-free days, to enable workers collect their PVCs from the INEC offices and exercise their civic responsibility during the February 2023 Elections.

According to the report on Punch News, these Work-free Days are also structured for different grade level workers within the system.

Civil Workers who are in the following grades; 01, 03, 07 and 15 have a Work-free day on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Workers who are in grade level 02, 04, 08 and 13 are expected not to come for work on Wednesday, 25th of January 2023. Thursday, January 26, 2023, is for workers with grade levels 05, 09, 12, and 17; while Friday, January 27, 2023, is for workers with grade levels 06, 10, 14 and 16.

Confirming the development, Lagos state Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, in a circular issued on Wednesday, 18th of January, revealed that the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, authorized the pronouncement of the work free days, as he believes it is everyone’s civic responsibility to vote.
