Few Weeks To Go, Soludo Makes A U-Turn, Says Peter Obi Might Win Election
Contrary to the views expressed in the past, the governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo has considered the presidential candidate of the Labour, Peter Obi as a formidable force in the forthcoming election, saying he might win the State in February.
Soludo made this statement during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday evening.
The governor said: “I wish Peter Obi the best of luck. Let him go and compete as others.
“We (APGA) are also competing in the same race. We have our own candidate (Peter Umeadi), who is also son of the soil, coincidentally from Anambra State as well, and he will do his own bit, get his own votes.”
Last November, Soludo authored a scathing piece about Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, where he dismissed the Labour Party’s chances at the coming poll.
His article was however met with criticism from Obi’s supporters, many of whom accused the incumbent Anambra governor of jealousy.
Although Soludo promised to release the concluding part of his anti-Obi article, no new piece has been written so far.
