PHOTOS:  How Unidentified Ladies Were Lifted Out Of The Story Building Sunk By Flood In Maryland

The protracted rain that started on Sunday morning reportedly created an untold havoc in the Maryland area of Lagos State.

One of the story buildings in the area was said to have been heavily ravaged and sank completely in the flood that took over the popular area.

According to the report that has been trending online, the building with several occupants was deeply sunk into the flood as the occupants struggled helplessly to escape the distress situation.

On Monday morning, Rescue Team from Lagos state confirmed that five ladies were rescued alive from the building. The victims whose identities are yet to be revealed were seen lifted to safety by the rescue officials. The pictures were posted on twitter by Punch Newspaper.

The Lagos Territorial Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Monday.

According to him, the victims are currently being attended to by the State medical personnel. Efforts to ensure all victims of the flood are rescued alive are still ongoing.

The building was said to have located at 47, Akinwunmi Street, Akinwunmi North Estate, Mendes, Ikeja Lagos.
