Ex-Director Of Civil Society, Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Council Visits Atiku Hours After Dumping APC

As at the time Mrs Najatu Muhammad was announcing her decision to part ways with the ruling All Progressive Congress and campaign council of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday, many political observers believed that the politician was probably quitting active politics.

Muhammad, who was the Director of Civil Society of the APC presidential campaign council announced her resignation on Saturday.

In a letter dated January 19, 2023 and directed to the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu, she revealed that the recent developments in the party do not align with her belief.

However, it was reported that the Kano born politician paid a visit to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party on Sunday.

In a report published by Daily Trust, the former Tinubu’s PCC Director did not only visit Atiku but also endorse the former vice president for 2023.

Dino Melaye, a spokesman of Atiku’s campaign, was among those who received Muhammad at the residence of the former vice-president.

The politician openly told newsmen that she had endorsed Atiku for the forthcoming election.

According to the report, Muhammad disclosed that she decided to stop supporting Tinubu because a lot has changed with him and in the party. He stated that he can no longer think straight.

“I have transcended religious, tribal or regional sentiments, so I can’t afford to look at things with that narrow premise. I think it is not only irresponsible, it is criminal because we have succeeded in dividing this country for selfish reasons. We can’t continue like that. We need to move our country forward. That is my reason. I have nothing personal against anyone,” she had said.
